Google has released a third revision of Android 13 Beta 3, having started distribution of the first revision last week. Android 13 Beta 3.2 is available to download now and will bridge the gap between Beta 3 and Beta 4.
Last week, Google began rolling out Android 13 Beta 3, a build that marked Platform Stability for its new operating system. While Android 13 Beta 3 locked in all Android 13’s new APIs and features, Google has since released two more smaller beta builds. Incidentally, Google plans to release Android 13 Beta 4 soon, but clearly it thought it needed to fix some outstanding issues in the meantime.
Initially, Google issued Android 13 Beta 1, an update that only addressed a bug that caused the Android Beta Feedback app to be unavailable in some cases. Subsequently, Google has announced Android 13 Beta 2, still a minor update but one that contains more bug fixes. Supposedly, Android 13 Beta 3.2 also contains stability improvements that earlier Android 13 Beta 3 builds lacked.
According to Google, Android 13 Beta 3.2 fixes an issue that caused the back gesture to fail in some apps. Additionally, the new beta should address a problem that resulted in select apps crashing upon opening, as well as a separate issue that frequently crashed the Google Photos app. Separately, the ‘At a Glance’ settings page should no longer collapse inconsistently when scrolling, as it did in early Android 13 beta builds. Finally, Android 13 Beta 3.2 will prevent the microphone from turning on and off unexpectedly during ‘unrelated use of the device’.
Android 13 Beta 3.2 arrives as an over-the-air (OTA) update for all eligible devices, currently the Pixel 4 through Pixel 6 series. If you have not enrolled your device on the Android 13 Beta, you can still do so online.
