The Huawei P50 Pocket launched in China recently, while the P50 Pro arrived in mid-2021. That being said, both the Huawei P50 Pocket and P50 Pro have now become global smartphones.
Huawei recently announced that the two phones will see their global launch on January 12. That confirmation came from Huawei Mobile MY (Malaysia). What was interesting back then is that Huawei didn’t use its main social media account for the announcement.

Well, there was a reason for that. These two phones are now available to pre-order in Malaysia, and only there, it seems. They still didn’t arrive to Europe. This does make them global devices, though, as Malaysian units come with global versions of Harmony OS, not software made for China.
As already mentioned, both phones are now available to pre-order there. The 8GB RAM variant (White) of the Huawei P50 Pocket is priced at RM5,999 ($1,432), while the 12GB RAM model (Premium Edition) costs RM7,299 ($1,910).
The Huawei P50 Pro, on the other hand, costs RM4,199 to pre-order, and comes in an 8GB RAM model only. Both devices are available to pre-order until January 21. We’re not sure when will they be coming to Europe, though. Maybe later today or on January 21? We’ll see.
Now, the design of the two models is the same globally as it is in China, it seems. The Huawei P50 Pocket is the company’s first clamshell foldable smartphone, in case you’re out of the loop.

The phone has a secondary display on the back, and the main one that folds in half. This phone is a competitor to the Galaxy Z Flip 3. Its main display measures 6.9 inches, while its secondary measures 1.04 inches. Both of them are OLED panels, and offer 120Hz and 60Hz refresh rates, respectively.
The Snapdragon 888 SoC fuels the phone, though it supports 4G connectivity, not 5G. What’s interesting is that the listing says it comes with EMUI 12, and Harmony OS is supposed to be installed on it. Perhaps it’s a mistake in the listing.
The phone includes 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, or 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, depending on the variant. It has 40, 13, and 32-megapixel cameras on the back. Those are wide, ultrawide, and ultra spectrum cameras, respectively. A 10-megapixel camera is included on the front.
The phone also includes a 4,000mAh battery, with 40W Huawei SuperCharge charging. There are two SIM card slots included here, and Bluetooth 5.2.

The Huawei P50 Pro, on the other hand, is also fueled by the Snapdragon 888 SoC that supports 4G connectivity. The phone features a 6.6-inch 2700 x 1228 OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. That display is curved.
The device comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. There are four cameras on its back. A 50-megapixel wide-angle camera, 13–megapixel ultra-wide angle camera, 64-megapixel telephoto unit, and a 40-megapixel true-chrome camera. A 13–megapixel camera sits on the front.
A 4,360mAh battery is used here, and 66W Huawei SuperCharge is supported. 50W Huawei SuperCharge wireless charging is also supported on the device. This phone is IP68 certified for water and dust resistance.
